Gillian graduated in 1994 from Hull University with a BA Hons degree in Teaching and Art. Gillian is a local mixed media artist and celebrates her interest in the continual cycle of nature in her still life subjects, and the beautiful surrounding countryside where she lives and admires on holiday in this exhibition.

Building up layers using collage, tissue paper, fillers and acrylic paint gives Gillian’s paintings a textural, three dimensional quality. More recently Gillian has introduced copper leaf to her work, which effectively adds highlights to areas of texture and bring her paintings to life.

A passion for colour, texture, still life and landscape dominate Gillian’s paintings. She is continually making mental notes about colour, shape, line and form in her environment.

Gillian paints from her studio set in the grounds at North Luffenham Hall, and in her beautiful walled cottage garden in Ketton. Gillian regularly completes commissions for clients and is happy to offer appointments at her studio.

Gillian has original paintings hanging in private homes in New York, Paris, Spain, London and throughout the UK.

In addition to painting, Gillian is a qualified teacher, and she regularly runs workshops for adults and children at Stamford Arts Centre. You can find out more about these on her website.
